Let’s take the mystery out of therapy.

So, now what?

1

Request a consultation.

You’ll be asked a few questions to help identify your needs. This is NOT a commitment — it’s a time to decide if you feel if we’re a good fit.

2

Identify your goals.

We’ll explore what brings you to therapy and the important question of what life looks like after therapy.

3

Change your life.

Learn skills, talk through struggles, change your thinking, and learn to live as the authentic you. The work and benefit of therapy doesn’t end at our last session — it just begins.

"Emily helped me learn to open up to my family during a time that I didn’t think I ever would."

FAQs

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

At this time I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts Commercial, and Optum.

Not utilizing insurance has various benefits, including:

  • You will not have to be given a diagnosis. I understand that sometimes you may just be going through a life transition or stress, which may not warrant a diagnosis.

  • I am the only person to keep the records. This means that your personal information can’t be obtained by insurance companies.

  • Your care is only dictated by you and I. Insurance will not be able to weigh in on if services are continually needed.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

The standard session time for families, couples, and individuals is 60 minutes. I offer extended sessions upon request.

Please note that sessions will end on time to respect the appointments of other clients.

WHAT IS YOUR INTAKE PROCESS?

After you decide that I’m the right fit for you, I’ll ask for your email address and send you a link to an online portal so that you can conveniently complete the intake paperwork prior to our first appointment.

The digital paperwork includes a collection of basic demographic information (name, gender, address, and personal background). You will also be asked to review my informed consent, policies and procedures, and confidentiality agreement.

After I receive and review this information, an initial session will be scheduled.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME FOR SESSIONS?

I am here for as much or as little as you need. We’ll work closely work together to figure that out.

Typically, the counseling process can take anywhere from 8-12 sessions before you notice any change. This, of course, depends on your motivation and effort between the sessions. I recommend for clients to begin therapy weekly, as this will allow you and I to build a relationship and quickly figure out how to accomplish your goals.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

Life happens, and I understand that emergencies come up. If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours beforehand.  If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
